Horizon Treadmill
Monday, September 21st, 2009The Horizon treadmill is made by the Johnson Health Tech company who have been making fitness equipment for over 30 years. This means that a Horizon fitness treadmill will be one you can rely on and feel confident when purchasing. Another thing is that this company make all their own equipment in house – nothing is outsourced to cheap labor countries or companies. They are as passionate about quality as they are about customer service and satisfaction.
Horizon treadmills use large heavy frames which makes them more solid and stable which ultimately makes you more comfortable and poised during your workout.
Before you buy a Horizon treadmill, make sure you know what size belt you’ll need for your purpose. These treadmills come with belt sizes of between 50 and 60 inches, which are usually big enough for most uses, but if you have a particularly long stride, you’re going to need a longer belt.
The Horizon fitness treadmill also comes with a variable cushioning system, which means different areas of the belt have different levels of cushioning. There’s more cushioning in the areas where your feet land, to help reduce the impact on your feet, ankles and legs, and less cushioning further down the belt where you push off – giving you a firmer base for a stronger push on each stride. Ultimately this gives you a pretty good balance of cushioning and support.
Some tips to help you in choosing the right Horizon treadmill for you:
Try out the treadmill. Does the frame feel solid and stable?
Does the width and length of the belt feel roomy or cramped?
How does the suspension or cushioning system feel? Is it too bouncy or firm?
All treadmill motors come with a variety of ratings, and the higher the rating the smoother and more comfortable the operation of the mill will be. Horizon treadmills use what is known as a CHP rated motor, which means the treadmill delivers consistent power at all speeds. These motors come with a lifetime warranty and are also very quiet, so you won’t experience any noise distraction if you want to watch the onboard TV or listen to your MP3 player.
The Horizon console incorporates the control for easy adjustment of speed (anything up to 10 miles per hour), elevation up to a 10 percent gradient, program selection (each Horizon Treadmill has at least 10 different preset workout programs including manual, intervals, weight loss, rolling hills and a custom setting), MP3 player connection and volume control and TV operation (on the models fitted with the TV screen).
Most Horizon treadmills also come with wheels and an easy to operate folding mechanism which makes them very easy get out and put away. They also fold flat meaning they don’t take up a lot of storage space when not in use.
